Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: 10/28/10

Posted on October 28, 2010

The cold front had the bigger fish biting better today. I went out with my uncle David and my cousin Tyler and we caught a nice 30 fish limit of fish up to 6 pounds. I was marking 70⁰ water temperatures today which means that Fall fishing has officially begun. The birds were working in several areas and the fish were stacking up a little better in the deeper water around 30ft. or so. Live bait was the ticket fished on anchor under the birds. The fish were moving fast and wouldn’t stay with you too long. We had enough time to catch 10 fish or so before they would leave and we would pull up to throw another anchor. I saw a few people fishing slabs and catching fish as well but I didn’t try any. I did throw a cohoe a little without success. The highlight of the trip came after we got back to the dock while I was cleaning fish. David pulled in a nice 50 lb. blue cat. The big cats are really showing up at the cleaning docks right now. We caught 2 others that were about 10 lbs.
The fall fishing has been a little behind schedule this year but it has arrived and is here to stay so come and get em while its hot. I’ve got Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of next week available if anyone is interested.
