Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: Dec. 1

Posted on December 2, 2010

I had a group of 3 Wednesday morning. It was a cold, clear, and calm morning with little to no wind and I still had ice on my boat from catching bait when we were leaving the dock at 7:00. I decided to start out where I had finished up and left them biting on my trip Sunday morning. The lake was like a mirror with a little bird activity. I tried several spots in the area without a bite, of course the fish had moved again and I was off to find them. We fished several other areas with just a fish here and there when the wind finally picked up a bit. I noticed that the birds had picked up nearby so we wind over to investigate. I stopped in 20ft. of water and setup a drift using live bait just a crank off the bottom. In no time we had 2 fish on, good fat 19” fish. We were catching fish right and left for about 20 minutes, and just as sudden as it had started, the wind quit. As the boat moved slower and slower across the flat, our bite equally grew slower and slower until finally it was gone. We pulled in 21 up to 24” before it was all over. I tried several more spots but could only manage a few more sand bass. We finally called it quits and headed in with 27 fish in the box. It was a beautiful day out on the water and I was grateful for what little wind we had to make the fish bite for us. I still have this upcoming Sunday available if anyone is interested.
