Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: More Topwater Action 4/19/10 AM

Posted on April 19, 2010

The rain finally stopped this morning but the outstanding fishing continued. First cast of the day we landed another 10-12 lb fish on topwater. What a way to start the morning! We caught several more fish on top with another that was around the same size as the first. Unfortunately, the second big fish caught a hook in the gill and was bleeding real bad and we had to keep him. This was the first big fish that I’ve filleted in about a year. I sure hate to cut those big ones. After the topwater action subsided, we went and threw anchor in 25 ft. and it didn’t take us too long to finish up our limit. We spent the rest of the time throwing more topwaters with a few more takers but nothing big. Man these fish are hungry. The big fish I cut open had already spawned and had 5 big gizzard shad in his stomach.    The fishing is on and now is the time to make your way to Texoma to experience some of this madness.
