Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: November Fishing At Its Best
Posted on November 15, 2011
Fishing has been absolutely fantastic this fall. November is one of the best months of the year for striper fishing and this year has proved to be no exception. The lake is finally on the rise, the water temperature is in that magic 60 degree range, the birds are here in large numbers, and the fish are feeding like crazy. The birds are nature’s fish finders and they have been doing there job thus far on a daily basis showing us where to fish and making fishing easy. We have been coming home with limits of fish with lots of overs on nearly every trip. Live bait and slabs seem to be the ticket but sassys are working well also. Drifting or on anchor, fishing in 30 ft. or 80 ft, it doesn’t seem to matter the fish are biting, find the birds and you have found the fish so get ready for some action. The best part is, with hunting season underway and the kids back in school, you have the lake practically all to yourself.
Yesterday’s trip proved to be the best trip yet this fall so I hope it is a trend that will continue. We brought in several big fish having to throw back lots of overs including a 14 pounder and a 12 pounder. Its great to see those big fish, they were weighed, posed for a picture and released for someone else to catch them.
Here are some pictures of the past few trips.
With the mild weather we’ve been having, ample amounts of bait fish, and last year’s spawn now coming of age, I’m anticipating this action to continue through winter. The fall action will remain hot and steady through the end of December but there should be plenty of fish to be caught all winter long. Now is the time to fish.
