Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: June Fishing

Posted on June 30, 2011

The striper fishing on Lake Texoma is not what it used to be last year and years past, but it is still better than any other striper lake in the world. We may not be catching our limits everyday while some days are tougher than others but we are still catching fish on every trip and sending our customers happy. On a good day you can expect 30-40 fish, maybe more, and on a bad day we’re catching 10-20 fish. Most of the fish we are catching are in the 2-4 pound range but here and there we are seeing 10-14 pound fish coming in.

The fish aren’t holding to a pattern too long but they haven’t been moving too far so they’re easy to relocate when they move. Most of my fish have been coming off of the ledges along the banks and river channel on anchor but the depth they are in varies from day to day. I’ve been using only live bait but the lure bite for slabs and topwaters should be turning on soon. Bait remains easy to catch on the tires in the marinas.

Here are some of my recent trips

Since the patterns are off I’m hesitant to make any predictions as to what July will hold for this year. Traditionally July is one of my best months for big fish so we will soon see. All I know is the fish have been biting good in the mornings and the evening fishing has been tough. Yesterday we brought in 40 fish but tomorrow could be different, you never know. There are several openings available for July. You can book your trip online at www.striperinc.com or just give me a call at (903)815-1609 and I’ll get you set up.
