Lake Texoma Striper Fishing Blog

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving was as good as mine was. We were blessed with great food in the presence of those we love, but most of all, we have been blessed with some awesome fishing here on Lake Texoma. As of my last trip, which was Sunday November 27, sassy shad were working the best compared to live bait and slabs. We caught lots of fish and even hauled in a 13 pounder while slow rolling a 5” glow sassy shad. Winter is an excellent time to catch these big fish, though I have not seen many over 10 pounds, we are catching tons in the 4-6 pound range which makes for an exciting trip.   It is also time for the big blue cats to start biting but the striper fishing has been so good that I haven’t had the opportunity to look for them yet. Fishing is better right now than I have seen it all year except for maybe June. This winter should be excellent for fishing.
