Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: Transitioning to the Gift Economy
Posted on October 17, 2012It has been a while since I posted a fishing report, I’ve been undergoing quite a transformation over the past year or so and promotion has been at the back burner of the to do list. I am very proud to announce that we now have a new addition to the family, our first child, Brian Aidan Prichard, who is now 3 weeks old today. We call him Aidan and he has opened my heart beyond any imaginable parameter, guiding me on my own spiritual transformation. The experience of child birth and becoming a father has been truly a blessing and life changing experience. To reflect my inward transformation, Stripers Inc. is transitioning into the gift economy. The gift economy focuses on the giving rather than the receiving. This means there are no set rates and my service is a gift. We will go fishing as friends without any expectations to what the day holds, when the trip is over you are free to pay or give in return whatever you feel the trip was worth to you. This is not a gimmick and we are not a charity, simply, I feel in my heart that it is the right way to do business and I have the faith that we will be provided for with all that we need thus freeing my mind of any worry or doubt. The gift economy is part of a global movement, a paradigm shift into a new way of being, one that has evolved beyond greed which must take place for our children to have a future. As for the fishing, it has been great. There is an abundance of 4-8 pound fish in the lake, more than I have seen in several years, which has made for some incredible fishing trips. The birds have arrived in great numbers making it easy to find the feeding fish. Topwater action has been productive in the mornings and should continue through the end of the month. The topwater bite is good for the first hour or so of daylight along the shoreline until it gets too bright and then they move deeper, at which time they can be caught using live bait or soft plastic swim baits.
Fall and winter is by far my favorite stretch of the year to fish because there are fewer boats, we get to use lures, and the fishing is great. I still go out with bait and we will use it if necessary but lures are always more fun. NOW is always the best time to fish as you never know what to expect until you get on the water and give it a try. You can book your trip online at www.stripersinc.com or give me a call at (903)815-1609 and I’ll get you set up. Note that the online reservation system has not yet been transitioned into the gift economy. When booking your trip online please disregard the rate shown as it will not charge your card nor will I expect any certain amount. It is completely up to you to give how much you feel the trip is worth given my effort and the fishing for that day. Also be aware that large groups (over 6) will still have to be based on a set rate of $125/person since I will need to hire on additional guides at that rate. I will be looking forward to fishing with you.
