Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: The Gift of Winter Fishing

Posted on December 2, 2012

I would like to invite you to go fishing with me, just as friends no rates, simply to enjoy fishing. I don’t know if we will catch anything but I do know that being out on the water is a good time on its own. Catching fish is simply a bonus to an already perfect adventure out onto the water. The experience itself is all that matters and I want you to enjoy it, no expectations of catching and no obligations for payment, you’re just along for the ride. This is what fishing is really about. After the trip if you have found it to be an enjoyable experience you are welcome to give in return what you feel the experience was worth to you. I have no expectations as to what you give in return or if you give at all, that is OK too. It does go to support my family and I know that we will be provided for in one way or another. Sharing in the experience and seeing people leave happy is really the 1 payment and what makes it worthwhile to me.

Winter is a great time to fish, the lake has a different spirit about it during the winter. The seagulls, loons, and bald eagles are all there and but on a show to see. The fishing is typically really good and is a great time to catch big fish. We usually have the lake all to ourselves and it is peaceful, no traffic, just nature. You may worry about scheduling a trip in the winter, what if it is too cold? No worries, we don’t have to go out in the morning, we can go later the fish bite all day. Or if there is a cold front, just cancel or reschedule your trip for another day.

Right now the birds have been working in great numbers. I’ve been doing well using bait in the deep water and I have had some success with sassys too. I have been on a pattern of catching big fish the past month but they seem to be moving around a bit and aren’t there every day, either way the fishing has been good, especially with the beautiful fall weather we’ve been having. To share in this experience, you can book your trip online at www.stripersinc.com or just give me a call at (903)815-1609 and I’ll get you set up.

Looking forward to fishing with you,
Brian Prichard with Stripers Inc.
