Lake Texoma Fishing Reprot :: Springtime Fishing
Posted on April 4, 2014After a long cold winter, the time of rebirth is now here. We have let go of the old and moved into the new as new life is emerging everywhere and all around. The weather is perfect, the birds are singing their songs of love and the flowers are beginning to bloom. What better time than now to spend some time out on the water soaking in some sunshine and catching fish. We’ve had some great trips out on the water and some slow trips too. As the fishing always varies from day to day, I can not say how many we may catch but we will certainly do our best and enjoy the heaven out of it along the way.
The fish are kind of scattered out so we’re making long drifts casting sassy shad into 5-15 ft of water moving through a flurry of action here and there, having a good wind seems to really help the bite right now enabling you to cover some water as you drift. A lot of the fish we’ve been catching are really nice size up to 10-12 pounds and most trips we have been able to bring back most all of our overs which always makes for a good day. Soon the fish will be shifting patterns as this warm weather kicks in and we will start using bait again but I love my lures while they are still working.
Here are some pics of last weekends fish.
If this spring weather is giving you the itch to fish like it is me, then give me a call and we’ll go see what the lake has to offer. I practice the gift economy so I have no set rates, after the trip, simply give in return whatever you feel it is right for my services and the conditions for that day. I have no expectations and I will be equally grateful for whatever you choose to give. I’ve been doing business this way for a year and a half now and it has been a 1 blessing enabling us to keep the focus on the fun of fishing rather than making it out to be work. I’m even open to trade. I could use a good tiller and we’re remodeling my grandmother’s old house to move into so a service trade of carpentry, electrical, or plumbing work would also be appreciated.
