Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: May 14th

Posted on May 14, 2009

The water is still rising and the big fish are biting. Lake Texoma water temperature is 64° and the elevation is 628, which is 12’ above normal and still rising. We’ve been having to improvise getting to the boat but we’ve got it worked out now and I’ll be able to fish no matter how high the water gets. I like the lake being high because the lake is not near as crowed as normal with all the boat ramps shut down.

I had a 2 boat trip today of 8 guys and both boats did awesome. Each boat caught fish in the 10lb range fishing 2 different spots. It took us about an hour to catch an 80 fish limit and we released a lot of fish over the 20” slot limit today too. We fished until the customers just could not lift their rods anymore form fighting so many big fish. My boat fished in 32’ of water not far from the wind blown shore on anchor using live shad. The other boat fished near the river ledge in 45’ of water on anchor using live shad also. If you can’t put your boat in the water right now then just call me and I’ll put you on the fish.
