Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: Monday July 13th

Posted on July 13, 2009

Lake Texoma elevation is at 618.58 (1/2 ft. below normal) and the water temperature is 86°. The bait fishing has really been picking back up the last couple of days and this morning it was like spring again. I caught my limit off of one anchor in about an hour and caught and released until we ran out of bait around 9:30. We probably caught 70 fish between three people. I was using a slab when I got a break from taking fish off the hook and it was working great as well. I threw anchor in 40ft going 12-15 pulls and the fish stayed with me the whole time, trollers and waverunners going by me and everything, the fish didn’t care today. I offered to do some lure fishing after we got our limit but they were happy with what they were doing. Using circle hooks nearly every fish is lip hooked. I only had one bleeder out of all the fish I released. Right now you can choose how you want to catch the fish. Everything seems to be working, topwaters, slabs, and bait.

I have several week day trips still available for July and August. I’ve only been running morning trips due to the heat but if you would rather the afternoon, I’m pretty flexible. If you have any questions please feel free to call me anytime at (903)815-1609. Book your trip online at www.stripersinc.com
