Lake Texoma Fishing Report :: Winter Special and Gift Certificates

Posted on December 15, 2010

With the days growing shorter, the temperatures getting colder, and Christmas just around the corner,  it’s a sure sign that winter is closing in. It seems that the colder it is outside, the tougher it is to convince someone it is a good idea to spend money on going fishing. Now this does not mean that the fishing is bad during the winter, winter fishing can be some of the best fishing of the year, catching bigger and fatter fish. People just don’t like to be cold and don’t have the gear to participate in that type of fishing. As a result, I find myself with a lot of free time on my hands in during the winter months. My wife kindly reminds me that I now have the time to catch up on all of the honeydoos that have accumulated over the past summer which I’m sure would take up all of my hard earned free time. If we had not just had a wedding and honeymoon, I would consider a vacation to somewhere warmer, I guess that will have to wait for next year.

Maybe it is my procrastination of the honeydoos but whether I have trips scheduled or not, I still feel compelled to fish once or twice a week to keep on top of the fish patterns in case someone gets a wild hair and wants to go fishing. Yesterday Mark Banister Jr. and myself went out on a scouting expedition to see how the fishing was. With the colder temperatures over the weekend, the fish seem to be heading into their winter patterns and moving North and West. We found lots of fish and caught fish everywhere we stopped with some good steady action in a couple of places but nothing too fast. The fish we found were holding on ledges on or near to the river channel in 25-50 ft. of water and we were using live bait.

In an effort to avoid doing things like fixing the hole in the wall and painting the house, and as an incentive to brave the cold conditions and hopefully get in on some great winter action; I’m offering a weekday winter special of $100/person with a 3 person minimum (other discounts will not apply) which will last through the end of February. You can book your trip online at www.stripersinc.com or you can give me a call anytime at (903)815-1609. Also with Christmas almost here, you might consider giving someone special a Stripers Inc. gift certificate. They can book their trip at anytime to redeem their certificate. Just give me a call and I’ll get it in the mail for you or if it is too close to Christmas, I can send it via email and you can print it yourself.

Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas from Stripers Inc,
